If you dont have the build sheet along with the fender tag and VIN # to back it up its not a matching #'s car but you simply cannot take a VIN tag/serial # plate off a vehicle no matter what it is and put it on another vehicle and call it that.
You could replace a bad frame with a parts truck frame and this is fine.
But you cant swap the serial # tag from one truck to another. That is fraud and illegal. No ifs ands or butts about it.
If you are rebuilding a Power Wagon and have to replace the frame this in my eyes would lower the value compared to other trucks with matching serial # and frame #'s. Thats an original truck!! The replaced frame now is no longer an original truck because the serial # on the frame does not match the serial tag inside the door. It is fraud to now move the door tag to the truck with the replaced frame. You are saying a truck is something its not no matter if they were mostly the same or not. Its not the same truck.
Another example. Say I owned the first Power Wagon ever built. Its in the registry as #1 and been documented and looked at by you and it legit. Truck is in a wreck, got hit by a train or come off a trailer in a wreck can I take the serial tag off the door and put it on another Power Wagon and call it #1 again! Nope! The truck is gone and thats the end of it.
