Red wire from plug goes under the Battery Stud on the Alt. with the main battery wire from the amp guage.
White wire goes to Ign. with a "diod" installed.
This is for a Delco alt. with flat plug,Red/white wires,and one battery terminal stud on the back.
Is this what you have?
