But I worked in a metal shop that had a 12 foot, 400 ton press break. I used 1/2" conduit. Firts i squashed it flat a bit, so it would fit on 'edge' into a box die of the right width. (3/4"?) Then, I used a piece of 5/16 steel plate as the punch, When I push the punch into the ovulated tube, it formed a nice channel for the glass. I had to pry the tube out of the box die, then curve it by hand. I didn't do it twice, so no channel for the rubber seal. It sure would freeze my hands, that wind comes under the windshield right at the 10:00 and 2:00 positions on the wheel.
It sure made a heavy duty frame, lots heavier walls than the stock tin can stuff.
