There are lots of advantages to disc brakes, but the stock brakes are quite good if maintained! In fact, I have owned many, many power wagons and have yet to have any with disc brakes. In normal road driving, well maintained drums will lock up under high pedal forces even without a power booster. Stopping is not the problem.

I would never trade the look of the original wheels for discs!
