Hi Dan, an oak floor would look really nice but I decided I was going to cover the floor with carpet to cut down on the road noise so I used two 4X8 3/4" T&G plywood. Made a template out of cardboard and cut them out. I treated the underside with Linseed Oil and sprayed on a rubber sound deadening coat. Painted the top with black paint since it's going to get covered.
