Anyone use XZL's in the snow?

I have a really good set of michelin xzl's 1100-16. I am considering replacing my STA Superlugs with them. I have been very happy with the STA's good int the snow and the mud, and good on the highway.
I have heard how good the XZL's are in mud but can not find an mention how they work in snow. The reason to change would be the increased road speed. I wouldnt consider it with a 230 but the 318 should be fine.
