Frame Preservation

My 74 W200 is my daily driver. It has a perfect frame but I know it won't stay that way if I don't get it coated with something. I can't do a frame off because I need it every day. How would you guys handle this? I was thinking of cleaning everything the best I could with a 4" angle grinder with a wire wheel then using a spray on rubberized undercoating. This will never be a show truck but I want to keep it a long time.
