Metal a lot thinner can be galvanized. Clean and sprayed with Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer is what I did - no rust after 10 years. Don't use spray cans, shoot with paint sprayer - it provides a heavy coat of paint for good sealing. Follow directions provided by Rustoleum for thinning.
