One problem with the liability aspect of pulling someone out: If you agree to a fee of any size to pull someone out, you become liable for any damage because you are now a "professional" No fee = no liability for damages.....hopefully
Had a buddy move a horse for what he thought was a friend. He told them just to pay for the gas and he'd do it. Owner loaded the horse into the trailer and horse went spastic and hurt itself by ramming it's rear into the butt bar, hurting it's back. $900.00 in Vet bills and "friend" took him to court and won. Judge said the gas fee made it a buisiness deal and if he hadn't charged he wouldn't have been liable.
Used to be if you let stuck vehicle owner do the hooking up you weren't liable but I imagine that's changed now with the court system we have. BE CAREFUL out there, sometimes it's better to let someone use your cell phone! Kevin
