Keep driving the truck and I am sure you will find out! Gnarley? Is there evidence of outside wear on the stub shaft? I think I would take it off and inspect it, and the bearing cups.

I've got a np540 ready to go into my M37 but the input shaft is 1/2 inch to long. Did you have any issues similar?
