I know you've got plenty of responses but here's one more.
I don't insure my old stuff as collector's stuff. I just insure them as regular vehicles, liability and un/underinsured motorist. But any single one is not worth more than ~$7500 so I don't need full coverage. It runs me about $25/month per vehicle for 250/500 coverage(that's $250,000 per person medical, $500,000 per accident, I learned awhile back not to go with the legal minimum here in CO of 25/50, medical bills add up fast). So ~$300 a year per vehicle and I'm set. No gray areas for use or limits on miles or anything like that. Just simple, straightforward insurance. I think the problems start when one wants/needs full coverage. Of course, if I wreck it, I take the loss on my own vehicle as I did with my 1955 Pontiac Chieftain.
Right now I've got four vehicles insured this way.
