These bolts go into the water jacket of the block so they are in water or coolant all the time. You can try a pipe wrench, but you may have to drill them out - NO HEAT! If you do have to drill them out, TAKE YOUR TIME with a cobalt or similar drill. Start with a 1/16 dia. and be VERY good at centering it in the bolt because there is little bolt clearance in the pump housing for "fing" it up, you only get one shot. I broke one and had to drill, gave it my best shot, was off just a little, because the bolt rubs against the housing when installing or removing it. You may want to consider a machinist.
- Use stainless steel bolts and antiseize compound
- You need to use a bottle of Prestone anti rust/scale inhibitor
- Follow the procedures in the PIF for removing the water D tube
