Trailers are built with 0 to 1.5 degrees of negative caster when level. Negative caster makes it easier for the axle to trail the towing vehicle. Too much negative caster and the trailer becomes unmanageable vis-a-vis "fishtailing". With the tongue below the center line of the trailer axle , neg. caster would increase . It gets worse with multi-axle trailers where the rear axle is fighting the front .
