I don't buy restored cars or trucks to take home and modify nor would I destroy a CLEAN survivor. Now as for a plain old run of the mill PW thats been sitting in a field for years waiting to go to the scrap yard, well thats another story. I look those type of trucks(and cars) as a starting platform for my "purpose". Then I "engineer/design" it for what I "intend for it to do" NOW with 60 years of technology/mechanical improvements at my disposal. I'm not farming in 1946, I'm trailriding and car showing in 2006.
And for the record I have all three types of builds...Stock WC 52, V8 powered PW and the Trailtruck (V8, auto, discs, altered wheelbase, cut sheetmetal etc). It took three to do everything I 'intended' for a PW to do.
