Newer trucks have in tank pumps for the injection system, plus pressure sensers in the tank for computer controlled emission/vent systems. A transfer system would bypass those headaches.
I like the convieneince of 500 miles between fill ups. I doubt if 200# of tank and fuel will effect anydamthing as far as braking or capacity go. And, so far as milage, the money saved by buying cheaper gas (10 to 20%?)at a known station will sure make up for hauling an extra 4% of weight.
No matter how much fuel I carry, my bladder is still the size of a pee. And rest stops don't sell fuel anyhow.
