Ok I am at home. I just got a ZXL mounted on a new ford rim- to fit the dana 60. I pull the guts out of the air stem and go to put in a good blast of air from my compressor. I got the line pressure at 120. Nothing comes out .
Why ?
Because some stupid engineer made my air chuck only work when the guts are in the stem. If I was at work I would have the right chuck to do this. The one that costs 60 bucks and I am too cheap (poor) to purchase.
I mount alot of tires. I do not bother trying to get the tire to seat with the valve guts in. Too restrictive for air .
I may give it a shot at the shop tomorrow , or I will take it to a tire shop next week. I hate wrestling with tires.
The reason I wanted to mount one is to see what kind of offset I need . With 0 offset I may still have full turning radius. It will be close.
The guy with the second NV4500 phoned. He wants to know when I am picking it up. Looks like I may end up with 2 after all. Only problem is he wants me to take the trans out.
take care
