Early dana 70 5 stud hubs.

Has any body ever modified the early style hubs to fit on later style axles ? This strkes me as a possible way to get modern axles and use the old style wheels. If I can find some hubs near by I am going to give this a try. Or if someone is going to hollister and has a real cheap set perhaps they can bring them > I am not going but I know someone who is..............<ggg>
