A few years ago I decided to take the Taconic Parkway south to NYC rather than the NYS Thruway I was driving my Dodge Ram pickup. At the on ramp the sign said "No-Trucks, No Trailers". I assumed it meant no truck trucks. I saw lots of pickups which confirmed my conclusion. However, a few days later I got on the Taconic going north, and was greeted with a sign at the entrance ramp that said "NO Commercial vehicles" To me, commercial means a vehicle for hire, not a for pleasure vehicle. For getting that in NYS they register a pickup as a commercial vehicle, I went on my merry way. 60 miles up the road I got a citation for driving a "truck" on a restricted highway.
