I can't speak as an authority on the flathead six, but as a general rule, Chrysler Industrial Engines and Series 3 motors were built with smaller valves, hydraulic lifters, stronger cranks and different metalurgy. They were usually factory blueprinted and balanced. The whole idea was to create a bulletproof version of the standard motor. Lower compression, lower rpms, lower horsepower, but it would run forever.
