If you flex the half-rounds far enough, you should see 4 1"balls, plus a 5th right in the middle. The tracta is the stronger design. The Czeppa's middle ball is retained on a pin that goes up the center of the shaft, and the hole drilled for the pin is the weak point- axles can spit up the middle, then the knuckle spreads, taking out the knuckle housing. All I was doing was making a u-turn against an embankment...1976?
