Check the engine length, many of the Chrysler and DeSotos used the 25 inch long block, whereas pre-61 Power Wagons used the 23 inch long short block. Note that "long blocks" came in many different displacements although I don't 230 cu inch was one of them.

If it is the long block, it apparently can be made to fit. Ask about this however, many guys here have done that and can give you more details of the swap.
