As you may know horsepower = $$$ so making a 350 devolop 400hp might be to expensive.
Someone on this forum should no the rule of thumb, but it goes something like $50 a horsepower(not real numbers, I don't remember the costs)
If you want serious power, you are much better off putting in a big block, and since there are many people on this forum to ask how to do it, I suggest a Mopar big block.
Remember, if you take a 350 and make it put out 400hp, it is working much harder then a 440RB with the same amount of power.
Of course weight is also a factor, and so is the frame, since it is narrow.
But I have seen a 440 in a flat fender, so it can be done in your truck.
