When I served in the Army in Korea we had M35 series 2 1/2 ton trucks come through our maintenance shops with cracked frame rivets. The Army repair was to use shouldered grade 8 bolts and nuts and ream the holes for a tight fit. Hand riveting is a art and its extremely hard if not impossible to get a tight fit working in the confines of a frame rail. Never had any repeat business with a frame repaired with the bolts. If you're careful and don't get in a rush this type of repair should last the lifetime of your truck. Good luck.
