or also known as single non servo type brakes with fixed heel.Each shoe is a 'primary' shoe and the forward one does 90% of the braking when going forward and the rear one does 90% of the braking when backing up, thus They both should have same amount of friction surface. Newer servo and dual servo type drum brakes have floating heels, thus less lining is needed on the secondary shoe otherwise it would over brake and lock up!FYI Dodge continued to use this exact brake system on the front axle of ALL sweptline W-300s made up through 1971 in the US!
