Hi all,
Happy Lunar New Year!!!
Here is an update and question for my 96 F-350 diesel.
Water pump working fine.
Got and extra cam sensor off ebay.
Thank you.
Even though I am inquiring about a Ford, this maybe helpful to the Diesel Dodge owners.
Cold weather starting for my 96 f-350 7.3 liter with 94,000 miles on it is difficult.
Normal starting in warm weather or after 1 1/2 - 2 hours with the heater plugged in is easy-
One turn of the key and split second starting.
Yesterday, after work, it took 30+ tries and over ten minutes to finally kick over. This can't be good.
I would crank the engine for no more than 1 - 3 second.
Most of the time 1 second. I know when it is not catching.
Any suggestions?? Fuel additives?? Clean Filters???
I have 94,000 miles on it and I believe some or all the glow plugs were changed before 46,ooo miles(before) i got the truck.
Thanks again,
Hope all is well,
Mark in NJ
