318 engine camshaft discoloration....

Pulled the intake and heads off a 318 with a possible blown head gaskett. I found the camshaft lobes to have distinct brown discoloration on them. The bores of the engine are in good shape, just some crud on the tops of the pistons, so I'm thinking of just doing a "in chassis" freshen up a'la Powerwagon Tim, but is the discoloration on the camshaft to be of concern to me?
