Ask the dealer's mechanic to give you the name and number of the exact part that was originally replaced, and to describe to you, in writing, his diagnosis, and reason for replacement. If he is "reluctant" to do so, tell him that your lawyer will be asking the same questions in small claims court.
Then get a hold of a real mechanic, and Chrysler customer service, and describe the symptoms, and the original repair. See if they concur that that was the correct part to replace.
Keep us posted on your progress. You might mention to the dealer that you have shared your story with a thousand or so fellow Dodgers on the internet. Nothing like the fear of bad press to give the dealer a little nudge.
