I finally have the carryall torn down and engine/trans/case removed.
Purists... please leave the post now...
Last warning...
I am planning to swap in a healthy 1970 Chevy 350 truck engine that has a few goodies and runs really good. I also have an NP-435 4-speed and NP-205 case all from 1-ton chevy. Also picked up a D-60 Front and D-80 rear with 4:56 gears. I would like to use power steering and column from the chevy with tilt wheel.
My question to you is has anyone ever done a swap very similar to this in a 1/2 ton that has anything documented with pictures, placement, etc... Just looking for any serious fit issues before I get started, or at least some landmarks for successful installations. I will take my time and check all fits prior to any finished fabrication, as I have done many interesting swaps in the past, including a turbo Buick V-6, TH-350, D-20 into a Samurai.
Sorry for offending anyone with this post, as there is not a lot of Dodge Content, or at least as much as most would like. I want something that I can build and modify reasonably, and keep dependable. Would like a truck I can tool around in without worrying about getting rear ended.
If you would like to remain anonymous in not admitting that you have done such a hideous thing to a WC, please e-mail me off line at bwranch@epix.net
Thanks,
Steve
