I had a M38A1 jeep that would exhibit the same symptoms, but only if the temperature was near freezing, and there was some humidity in the air. I could run the truck for 5 or 10 minutes then it would ice up… let it sit for 5 and the heat of the engine would rise and melt the ice and it would run again. I fought with it for weeks, then finally looked down the carb to see a think layer of ice in there where the pressure/temp drop happens.
