Check out Gordon McMillan's web site for some good information on '39 versus '40 versus '41 & up Dodge trucks. The '41 through '47 were very similar, but '39 and '40 had major differences. There were some 2X4, '41 & up Dodge trucks in military service, so you could have one of them.
