New '06 6 speed

I discovered in my new '06 Ram/Cummins with a 6 speed transmission that the reverse gear is to the left and down, whereas the '03 truck had reverse to the right and up. I asked my salesman if this was a Mercedes built transmission and he said: "No, it's a Getrag transmission, same as they have been using". What is he talking about? Or is it just "salesman double-speak"?
