This has been covered before, and everyone who has either owned or considered buying one has determined that both 2500 and 3500 have the same frame, running gear, etc. 3500 has overloads that boost the rear load capacity and comes with tow hooks and cab clearance lights. These are options on the 2500. So, the big difference is the emblem on the side and the overloads and the price.
I have an '03 2500 and am going to buy an '06 in a couple of months. I will buy another 2500.
