Today I took a drive down I-87 to visit a Chraftsman and his shop.
Perched on a mountainside was Paul Mierop working on his newest project; the Bandit. That machine is a work of love, rebuilt to specs but with Paul's twist; breathing diesel through a Cummins 4BT. With all of his self imposed ECOs (Engineering Change Orders), I suspect Paul tries to compete with the designers in Detroit!
After being met by his two beautiful dogs, I was given the tour of the shop and maple sugar operation.
I picked-up a set of Helitool disk brake and PS pump and box mounts I had UPS deliver at Paul's place. I now understand all the positive feedback I read about Ray's workmanship, it's nothing short of perfection; excellent designs built to exacting standards!
I also received my PW hat from Rick Sultan and t-shirt of the Berkshire mountain rally, I bet I'll be the only one in Montreal wearing these. Terry, nice artwork!
Thanks again Paul for the tour and cold diet-Pepsie.
Next time it's your turn to visit my neck of the wood and we'll go blow some steam.
Mike
