Was it back firing before you swapped parts, or did something go in wrong?
A quick test to eliminate mechanical problems is a 'cranking balance tast'. Unplug and ground the secondary lead from coil to cap, then crank engine. It should sound monotonous- wump, wump, wump, wump. A weak cylinder will have a rhythm: wump, wump, erk, wump.
Next do a dynamic balance test: with engine idling, pull one plug wire from the cap at a time. each should cause a similar loss of revs- the one that don't cause any worseness in idle is a bad one. Do all cylinders, you may have 2 wires crossed....
The firing order on all inline 6's is 153624. Remember this:
15 is too young,
36 is too old,
24 is just right.
( just a menomic, NOT the opinion of the author. Besides, sheep don't life that long)
Getting a hold of " A little old lady from Pasadena's" car can cause some headaches. Carbon from not driving hard enough can come loose and cause damage. Or she never revved it, so it has a ridge in the cylinders. Then you drive it hard enough that the piston fly up and the rings hit the ridge, and break the rings....
Most /6's had solid lifters, it may have a tight valve....
We're here to help, just ask.
