slant 6 -225 backfiring problem??

39,00 original miles.bought and drove home 700 miles with no problem.after one week backfiring when taking off in first gear and after shifting to second gear. have installed new distributer,and all new tune up parts.what should i check next. any idea's
out there. thanks
