I had one vacuum wiper motor rebuilt by Ficken Wiper Service (the other motor was in good working order). They did very good work, and were reasonably quick - about 4 or 5 weeks including shipping back and forth from Canada. Paul Cook's page as a link to their site. I believe he charged about $65. I also installed a vacuum reservoir that I got from Tim Holloway, who is a frequent poster to this forum. It helps for short engine load periods, but not for extended uphill runs. I can't comment on the electrical types, but if you plan to stay with vacuum, best get used to that "nostalgic" performance, and grow a longer left arm.
