I know that all glass in a car to meet current safety standards, not just the windshield, has to be tempered laminated safety glass. I think the minimum pvb laminate is .015, but maybe .030.
With tempered glass you cant cut it after the fact otherwise the surface tension layers will rip it apart.
I just wonder if people go the extent of having all their glass tempered, or if their is an exemption for antique vehicles.
