You say you did not make any adjustment to the piston push rod. That's good. Now, read my 6:15 post again. At 7:17, Kaegi affirms what I said. So do not adjust the piston push rod like he says at 0:29 on 4/11.
Go two clicks of the left mouse button to the manual that is right there for you and anyone else to use on my Kempner Museum web site. Print the manual. Read the manual.
Do a major brake adjsutment. Note that in the right column, Brakes Page 1, the manual says do not change the adjustment of the piston push rod unless you have replaced it.
When you have completed the major adjustment, the brake shoe return springs cause the wheel cylinders to force brake fluid which moves the master cylinder piston into the right place to align with the relief port. There is actually some clearance between the piston push rod and the piston when there is no pedal pressure pressure being applied.
Dodge says this is the way to do it. Not me or any other person posting on this Forum.
