I picked up my Lock Right 1210 today from Desert Rat. This is going into my '51 M37.
I don't have the time right now and I don't want to get into a hurry and trash anything so I'm going to have a differential/axle shop do the install.
Even though I won't be doing the work, I have a few questions before dropping off the third member and the box o' parts.
It came in essentially 5 pieces:
2 larger steel chunks ( I assume these are/is the clutch(es))
2 washers (I assume these are the infamous thrust washers)
1 bag of pins and springs
Is this a complete kit? It looks like the original side gears are reused and that they ride against the clutch halves mentioned above. Is this correct?
Should I use the thrust washers that came with the kit or should I order a set from M.A.R.S. or VPW?
I hope I can get this done before 4/16...that's when I'm headed to Moab!
Thanks in advance!
