I used a dropping resistor in series with the heater motor when I converted my 41 to 12v. First, put 6v on the motor and measure the current it draws. The resistor ohms needed will be 6v / motor current. The resistor wattage needed will be 6v * motor current. So if the motor draws 5 amps, the resistor would be 6/5 = 1.2 ohms at 6*5 = 30 watts. I had a number of big power resistors, and ended up with a couple in parallel to get the correct ohms.
