The only things you have not replaced is the rotor and plug wire. Since it is only the one plug my guess would be the wire. Compression takes a whole lot more to fire the plug than when it is laying out in the open. Sounds like not enough oomph to fire when installed and under pressure. Just my $.02. What size is your AC? I have a D-14 similar to the one I spent untold hours operating as a teenager.
