Is it safe to jump start a 6V with a 12V?

My 50 FF is factory 6V with a dead battery. Can I jump it with a 12V vehicle without causing damage? If I need to charge the battery, do I need to buy a specific 6V charger? This is my first 6V vehicle by the way. Thanks.
