I use soapy water to lube it so it will push into the groove. It takes a little working to get it in the groove. Once in place I close the window and leave it closed for a few weeks to train the rubber to stay flat. This has worked well for me. However, be sure the gasket is the right size. I bought one from a brand X place. It was to large for a stretch fit. Ordered a gasket from VPW and it fit perfect.
