In cold weather, (when I have not plugged in the block heater) my '91 vibrates like a crack addict until it warms up. In the summer, no problems from start-up.
There is a bearing with a nylon race on the driveshaft that is between the married transmission and transfer case. On my truck, the race on that bearing was defective from new. It caused a high-pitched noise that would often drown out the rock'n'roll. It did not cause any vibration, but getting it fixed was easy and it made the ride more pleasant.
Go for it.
