In addition, early NP435's were only syncronized between 3rd and 4th, but had the low, low granny 1st. Later versions were fully syncronized (except for first) and had a higher ratio first gear. These were more hi-way friendly, but a little less capable off-road.
The NP420 used a lower granny gear in 1st.
All three versions could be had with single or dual PTO doors.
