Adjustment of the front shaft drive pinion or input shaft bearing/retainer clearance
Hold the bearing retainer against the bearing without a gasket and measure the distance between the space with a feeler gauge. Gasket s/b .010 thick so you want to add as many required to achieve a clearance of .005 more or less than the point of greatest clearance.
Adjustment of the rear retainer is the same.
Enough oil is circulated to lube the bearing and drain back into the tranny without going out the reatiner end
