Remote jump starting

I would like to have a set of posts to which I could clamp a set of jumper cables to on my Power Wagon without opening the hood. I hnow tow trucks are equipped with a plug and have a proprietary set of cables with the plug on one end. I could go that route, but hate to dedicate a set of cables to one truck. I can envision a pair of maybe copper rods sticking out of the grille, but I would need to protect the positive post from getting shorted out to either the truck or the other post. Any ideas out there? or am I just nuts, or both!
