2500 vs 3500 Towing 28' Dual Tandem

With the "New" Power Wagon coming out in a few months, I just know that I'm going to want to trade my 2001 3500 Dualie. For those that have towed with both a 2500 and a 3500, how much different is the ride and handling? Right now, I have what I think is a great tow vehicle and trailer combination (28' dual tandem goose neck). I'm usually pulling about 12k to 14k (trailer + what's on it). Am I going to regret it if I try to pull that trailer with a 2500?
