Take a newer Chassis, and stick an old truck body of your choice on it (Id prefer a 1970-1971 W-300 Body on Eric's Chassis for example) The thing I dont care for is lack of leaf springs, lack of locking hubs, AND the aluminum transfer case....Id have to adapt a NP205 to it! I THINK when the body rots off my '91 W-250 Cummins truck, I am gonna put a Sweptline body on that chassis and keep going with it. For me a work truck has to have lockout hubs, straight axle, leaf springs on all 4 corners, gear drive transfer case, full floating rear axle (not this light duty 8 lug semi floater crap that some newer ones have) and preferable a manual transmission (when the 727 pukes in my Cummins Dodge, in goes a standard) I like things that are tried and true, simple and rugged....Hmmmmm..Kinda like Power Wagons!
I hauled quite a bit of scrap this week in the Cummins truck, and LOVE IT! Heck the rear springs squat more than the 10 ply tires on it!
