Brake lights

I have a 1947 pw that has a new brake light switch but after the truck sits for 5 to 10 min the brake lights jsut come on. If I pump the pedal they go off only to come on in 10 more min. I thought it was the old switch. Could there be air in the lines causing this? It jsut started happening out of the blue.
